Horizontal Surface Maintenance in Environmental Services (Level 1)
This entry-level course focuses on introducing participants to the various techniques, tools, and equipment used in horizontal surface maintenance. It provides a hands-on approach to understanding the key aspects of floor care and surface repair, aiming to develop participants’ skills to carry out routine maintenance and repairs effectively.
1. Prepare for cleaning activities through the assembly and use of assigned tools, supplies, allocated PPE and appropriate safety signages.
2. Clean, vacuum and mop hard floor surfaces and/or carpets according to organizational procedures.
3. E Comply with the requirements of Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulation 39.
4. Reinstate work area by collecting & disposing wastes and replenishing consumable cleaning supplies.
5. Report discrepancies in work activities to the supervisor.
