Tasks of the Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSH)
1. Assist in the resolution of specific WSH non-compliances and unsafe work practices.
2. In an emergency situation or when an incident or accident may escalate, alert team members.
3. Contribute to WSH programmes by carrying out initiatives.
4. The purpose of this is to collect data on WSH practices, conditions, and performance.
5. Prepare for emergencies by conducting drills.
6. Check other departments' work activities on a regular basis.
7. Induct and orient employees in safety procedures.
8. Provide suggestions for mitigating the occurrence of incidents and accidents in the future.
9. In addition, explain how employees' specific processes or areas of work are affected by WSH compliance requirements.
10. Prepare for emergencies by following the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP).
11. Make sure you follow WSH policies and procedures in the workplace.
12. Data collection and reporting should follow investigation protocols.
13. Identify unsafe conditions and practices at work and non-compliance with WSH standards.
14. Evaluate the effectiveness of the improvement actions that have been implemented.
15. Identify gases and fumes that may pose a health hazard to your team members.
16. Conduct compliance inspections related to WSH.
17. Communicate unsafe work conditions, unsafe work practices and non-compliance with WSH to team members.
18. In the event of an incident or accident, respond promptly.
19. Investigations of WSH incidents and accidents are supported.
20. Ensure WSH performance is improved and risks are controlled through the implementation of actions.
