SAFETY MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE
Safety Management Certificate :
Safety Management Certificate(SMC) means a deed issued to a ship, which regards that the Company and its shipboard management direct in accordance with the approved Safety Management System; it is a certificate released to an individual ship.
SMC should be released to a ship following a primary confirmation of compliance with the needs of the ISM Code.
The SMC is valid for a duration of five years.
The duration of the SMC is subject to at least one in-between verification, confirming the effective functioning of the SMS, and that any modifications carried out since the previous verification adores with the requirements of the ISM Code.
