Responsibilities of Lifting Supervisor

1. Keep to the requirements of workplace safety and health (operation of cranes) regulations 2011, Workplace Safety and Health (General Provisions) regulations and other relevant subsidiary legislation.

2. Planning, coordinating, and supervising all lifting activities on the project.

3. Perform daily inspections on all mobile cranes, crawler cranes, and overhead cranes controlled by electrical power (pendants) used on the project

4. Assure that operators of mobile I crawler cranes perform pre-operation checks using the company's checklist.

5. Communicate daily with the crane operators, riggers, and signalmen in the toolbox.

6. Involved in RA meetings on lifting operations and briefed the RA to the lifting team.

7. If you plan to lift anything using a mobile or crawler crane, make sure that only registered crane operators, appointed riggers and signalmen are involved

8. Make sure that any mobile I crawler crane operation will be performed safely on safe ground

9. The safe lifting procedures described in the company safe work procedures must be explained to all crane operators, riggers, and signalmen.

10. Check the rigging of the load to make sure a mobile / crawler crane, or tower crane can safely lift and move the load.

11. Upon receipt of a report of a defect or malfunction of the safety device of the mobile crane or tower crane, cease any lifting operation immediately, tag-out the affected mobile crane or tower crane, and notify the Construction Director/Senior Construction Manager promptly.
