WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (Level-B)

Participants of Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health will acquire the WSH knowledge and skills to coordinate the implementation of WSH management systems at the supervisory level. Participants will have intermediate understanding of the relevant WSH Regulations and provide the key competencies in WSH to become a WSH Coordinator.
This course is designed to prepare individuals to be assigned as WSH Coordinator or Supervisor after certification
Measure, Monitor and Report WSH Performance
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator to plan and conduct WSH inspection, monitor compliance and compile a report on the WSH performance in an organization
Coordinate Implementation of Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator or Supervisor to coordinate the company’s WSH Management System in compliance with the WSH Act, relevant Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP).
Promote WSH Culture Development
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator to promote a common set of Attitudes, Behaviors and Competencies (ABC) as the essential components of WSH culture within the organization
Investigate and Report WSH Incidents
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator to respond to an incident, conduct the investigation, write an incident report and contribute suggestions to prevent future recurrences.
Coordinate WSH Management System with Legal Compliance
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator or Supervisor to coordinate the company’s WSH Management System in compliance with the WSH Act, relevant Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP).
Administer WSH Policy
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator to coordinate the formulation, implementation and management review of a WSH policy within an organization.
Identify WSH Hazards and Implement Control Measures
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a WSH Coordinator or Supervisor to identify WSH hazards, unsafe work conditions/ practices and recommend reasonably practical control measures at the workplace for a number of key industries including construction, manufacturing, marine, petro-chemical and services.
Facilitate Effective Communication and Engagement at the Workplace
Promote effective communication within the team and use appropriate communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to build rapport and relationship with colleagues, stakeholders and customers, as well as resolve conflicts through negotiation while taking diversity issues into consideration

Solve Problems and Make Decisions at Supervisory Level
Acquire the skills to work with a team of staff in problem solving and decision making which includes anticipating and identifying potential problems, facilitating team's effort to resolve the problem, making appropriate decisions and seeing implementation plans through.
Supervise WSH in Construction Industry (Also known as Building Construction Supervisor Safety Course -BCSS)
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of Building Construction Supervisor to oversee or supervise any work or process carried out in a work site safely and without any risk to health
Participants who had completed and assessed to be competent in each module would be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA). The full transcript for WSQ ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH will be awarded by WDA for those who have successfully completed all the 10 modules and assessed as competent. from COMAT Training Services Pte Ltd
Applicants are expected to possess the following:
1. ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) and Numeracy Level 5; OR
2. GCE “N” Level English & Mathematics grade 5; AND
3. WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to Certificate in WSH; AND
4. Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience
